Located in Novato, the utilitarian Vintage Oaks has 50 merchants and focuses on large discounters like Target, Costo, Ross Dress for Less, Marshalls, Sportmart, Payless Shoe Source, Shoe Pavilion, Athlete's Foot Outlet, The Men's Wearhouse, and Bellach's Discount Leather Furniture. Other stores are large big-name retailers such as Old Navy Clothing Co., Macy's Furniture Store, Eddie Bauer, Ann Taylor Loft, Ben Franklin Crafts, Sharper Image, and Petco Food and Supplies. This is an outdoor mall with most of the space outside the stores is devoted to parking. Restaurant choices run the gamut from inexpensive fast food to moderate sit-down dining. Chevy's Fresh Mex (128 Vintage Way, 898-7345) Upscale, fresh Mexican food with untraditional preparations. Monthly promotions and seasonal specials. Great margaritas and appetizer platter. Kids love to watch the machine churning out fresh tortillas. Double Rainbow Café (112 Vintage Way, 898-8500) Soups, salads, sandwiches, cakes and a wide range of top-quality natural ice creams and sundaes. Fresh Choice (124 Vintage Way, 897-9593) All you can eat fresh salads, soups, pizza, pasta, rice with sauces, breads, muffins, and dessert. Very kid-friendly. IHOP (144 Vintage Way, 892-2232) Every imaginable kind of pancake is offered along with typical diner fare. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kids menu. Jennie Low's Chinese Cuisine (120 Vintage Way, 892-8838) Fresh, homestyle Chinese cooking (Cantonese, Mandarin, Hunan and Szechuan). Very reasonable lunch combination specials. Excellent pot stickers and crab puffs. Pasta Pomodoro (140 Vintage Way, 899-1861) Inexpensive, fresh Italian food. Excellent pastas and panna cotta with strawberries. Take-out and kid's menu.
