One of the things you should look for in a Realtor--wherever you may buy--is to find one that works for an established, thriving, market leading local company. This could be anything from "Picket Fence Realty" with twenty offices in Sacramento, to the largest one-office firm in a small town. In Marin County, the biggest and the best happens to be Frank Howard Allen, where I hang my license. They are the largest real estate company in Marin, with close to six hundred agents in over twenty offices throughout the North Bay region. Since 1910, the company has been owned by only two families and their foothold in the community is strong, donating millions of dollars to local charities while continuing to capture the greatest market share in housing sales. Most of the offices do not hire brand new agents, choosing instead to work with "The Best in the Business", as the saying goes. I can't say I'm personally the best in the business, but as one of the top agents in the county year after year, I pretty much have my choice of companies and offices. There is no place for me, other than the #1 office in the #1 company, here in the Central Marin office of Frank Howard Allen.
